Woerden and along River Meije

Woerden (Source: Nederlands Instituut voor Militaire Historie/Wikimedia Commons.)

On Sunday 18 May we will be taken to the area around Woerden. From 12 noon we will be welcomed at the starting point with coffee/tea and cake. The ride will start at 1 pm.

The route is taking us through the inundation area of the Old Dutch Waterline. When danger threatened, the locks were opened here and the entire area from Muiden to Brabant was flooded. In this way, King Louis XIV’s triumphal march was stopped here.

What can we expect?

You will enjoy typical Dutch landscape: lots of flat and blooming greenery, lots of high water, narrow navigation paths, winding along the Meije, straight through historic Woerden and back to the starting point for a drink.

What about dinner afterwards?

For those who like it, there is a 2-course dinner with a starter and a main course to end the day together. For the 2-course dinner you can choose between meat, fish or vegetarian for the main course. You can indicate any dietary requirements in the comments.

And what will it cost?

The participation fee is €12 per person for a member and €15 per person for guests. The 2-course dinner is €34.50 per person.

Are dogs allowed?

Our four-legged friends are welcome in the restaurant, provided they are well-behaved and on a leash.
