As announced at the AGM, the annual picnic ride will take place on Sunday July 27th. The theme this time is “Back to the Future”. This is in honour of the 40th anniversary of the release of the film of this name. The theme of time travel and its impact on the present is, to say the least, somewhat complex, which is also the case with this year’s picnic ride.
The hero of this ride is undoubtedly Ben Belt, who takes on the role of Marty McFly and takes us along. To where? Well, we actually know this: to the usual final spot of the Picnic Ride in Leidschendam to investigate whether our journey through time has changed anything about the present (and to have a picnic, of course).
For those who like to dress up, there is plenty to choose from with the 80s, the 50s or the Wild West, both in terms of clothing and vehicle (The person who arrives with a 1:1 DeLorean wins a bottle of champagne as promised). Those who don’t like dressing up can honour the film by wearing Calvin Klein underwear.
We start at 11:30 in Breukelen and hope to see you there in large numbers for this magical journey through time. We know where we start and where we finish, but what will be in between?
How much does it cost?
Participation fee is € 16.50 per person for members and € 19.50 per person for guests. included are two drinks (coffee/tea) and cake.
Are dogs allowed?
Our four-legged friends are welcome, provided they are well-behaved and on a leash.
This ride has been registered for the event regulations.
You can register via the registration page until Sunday 20 June at the latest.
Please note!!
Because the start and finish locations are not the same, it will not be possible to ride with someone, even though you can indicate this on the form.
