Just before the festive December days spent with family and relatives, GCCC is providing an opportunity to see your club mates again.
On Sunday December 11 you are invited to come to the Utrecht area, where our members Ruud and Mayra have organised an enjoyable ride followed by an interesting slides show on Peter Tsjaikovsky, given by our member Jan. Jan has presented those slides shows before, in December 2010, 2012, 2014 on King Ludwig II van Beieren, Oscar Wilde and Thomas Mann respectively. So this time on the Russian composer Peter (of Pyotr) Tsjaikovsky. Jan is going to tell you everything about this famous composer.
Start
You are welcome at Maarssen (precise address will be provided later) between 11.30 and 12.00 h. Parking is allowed in the restaurant grounds. Inside coffee/tea with some pastry will be waiting for you. After the ride we’ll be back there.
Planning
- Arrival from 11:30 – 12:00 h.
- En route at 12:30 h.
- Back at 15:00 h.
- Slides show 15:30 – 17:30 h., with a 15 minutes break
- Start dinner at 18:00 h.
The ride
The ride will be just North of Utrecht, a varied landscape with among other once cultivated areas now turned back into unspoilt nature.
In the route we will be passing some places where we can wet our throats, but seeing the ride will take only two hours, there won’t be much need for that.
Fancy something to eat?
There is a choice between:
- Starter Carpaccio / Smoked Salmon / Rouleau of Serrano ham / Portobello(vegetarian)
- Main Steak / Wild stew / Salmon / Flamkuchen(vegetarian)
- Dessert Stewing pear cake / Tarte tatin / Chocoladt dream
Table water is included in the menu. Other drinks are available at own cost using our well-known drinks slips.
Company
Your dog can come with you, but on a leash! Guests are welcome too, but only if they are registered beforehand.
Cost
Taking part in the ride will be € 4,50 for GCCC members and € 7,00 for guests. Dinner will be 25,00 per person. Payment is done beforehand, as usual.
Signing up
Registering for this last ride of the season was possible until December 4. We have 44 participants.
