GRONINGEN RIDE

On Sunday 13 April we will be taken to the province of Groningen.

Start

The day starts in Ezinge, a ‘wierdedorp’ (also known as a ‘terp’ (= mound) village). We will be welcomed with coffee and cake from 12 o’clock.

After having enjoyed this we will be given a tour of the Wierdenland Museum and get information about the ‘wierde’ of Ezinge where many excavations have been done. This will give us a good picture of the history of the origins of the north.

In the car

After the museum visit it is time to start driving. The ride takes us through the beautiful Middag Humsterland, one of the oldest cultural landscapes in the Netherlands. The route is not very long, so there is enough time to get out, meet each other and chat. You can drive quietly, because the roads are narrow and winding. Furthermore, there are enough catering establishments along the way where you can take a break, but you can, of course, also choose to have a picnic somewhere along the route, weather permitting.

We conclude the day with a joint dinner for those of us who like to. The choice consists of meat, fish or vegetarian. The exact dishes are also a surprise to us.

And what does it cost?

What does it cost? Taking part is €16 per person for a member and €19 per person for guests. This includes admission to the museum. Anyone with a Museum Card can add this in the comments field or indicate this at the day of the ride. €5 will then be refunded later. The three-course dinner is €22.50 per person.

Are dogs allowed?

Our four-legged friends are welcome at the restaurant, provided they are well-behaved and on a leash.

This ride has been registered for the event regulations.

Registration is possible until Sunday 6 April at the latest via the registration page.
