On Sunday, May 26th, Buurman & Buurman will organize their first ride: Past perfect tense
This day we will start and finish at a beach bar in Katwijk aan Zee. From 12:00 you will be welcomed there with unlimited coffee/tea and a choice of 3 pastries.
The ride
The ride starts at 1:00 PM, which takes us from the Katwijk boulevard to Noordwijk. We’ll then drive to Valkenburg Airport and visit a small museum founded by Richard’s father in a real communications bunker. Here you can enjoy a cup of coffee and a cookie, while you can read and see about the history of the airport. Or enjoy the weather and the surroundings outside on the grass.
After this break you continue towards Wassenaar and The Hague, and then return to Katwijk.
Around 5:00 PM we will be back in Katwijk for drinks, the awards ceremony and an optional delicious 3-course dinner on the beach!
What are the costs?
The costs are: € 15 per person for members, € 18 per person for guests.
Choice menu: € 40 p.p.
Starter:

Are dogs welcome?
Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a leash and well behaved.
Parking is available at De Noordduinen Parking Lot, Noordduinseweg 3. The costs for this are €1.80 per hour, until 9:00 PM. Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain an exemption from this through the Municipality of Katwijk.
Bunker Day May 25th, 2024!
Unfortunately, an extensive visit to a bunker is not possible during our ride, but the day before our ride is National Bunker Day!
On Saturday, May 25th, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the bunkers from Zeeland to the Wadden Islands will be open for Bunker Day! Visit a bunker for an additional experience to our ride. For the full program see their website: Bunker Day May 25th.
Atlantic Wall museum
During our ride we will drive past the Atlantic Wall museum. Unfortunately it was not practical to include a visit to this in the route. However, this museum, which is located entirely in a fire control bunker, gives a perfect picture of how the Atlantic Wall worked. We highly recommend this museum to anyone interested.
So polish your car and join us on Sunday, May 26! You can no longer register.
